Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is designed to acquire high technical knowledge and skills as well as good attitude of graduates in-line with Malaysia Education Blueprint 2015-2025. The objective is to provide students with industry related engineering knowledge, scientific skills, computing and analysis, mathematical techniques, a sound knowledge of English to communicate in the field and ability to apply problem-solving techniques.

The Journey .

The followings are what you will have as a student of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering at FKM, UTeM.

Year 1

Basic subjects to enhance the knowledge on fundamental theories in Mechanical Engineering. In this first year, this also includes English language and history of Islam and Asian civilisation.

Semester 1 and Semester 2

Engineering Drawing, Fundamental Mathematics, Chemistry, Fundamental Physics, Calculus, Computer Programming, Workshop Practice I.

Semester 3 and 4

Solid Mechanics I, Thermodynamics I, Materials Science, Fluid Mechanics I, Dynamics, Electrical and Electronic Principle, Workshop Practice II.

Year 2

Fundamental core subjects of Mechanical Engineering. Still include the laboratory practices and non-engineering subjects. In the short semester, student will go for industrial training in an industry for sixteen weeks.

Year 3

Advanced core subjects of Mechanical Engineering. This includes a compulsory subject for a non-engineering course.

Semester 5 and 6

Solid Mechanic II, Thermodynamics II, Mechanics of Machines, Static, Manufacturing System, Hydraulic and Pneumatic System.

How to apply?

ADMISSION

  • Applicants should submit the application through an online application system administered by the Bahagian Pengurusan Kemasukan Pelajar (BPKP), Jabatan Pengajian Tinggi, Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia.

  • The important dates and the procedures for the online submission will be announced by BPKP through their website / printed media/electronic media every year (usually in November) for the next academic session’s intake.
  • Please refer the entry requirement and submit the application online.

  • Applicants may submit the application to UTeM at any time throughout the year. However, applications received by UTeM ON or BEFORE June 30 will be accepted for admission in the current academic session and applications received after the date specified will be accepted for inclusion in the next academic year.
